Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup whipped cream for topping
  • 2 tablespoons honey for drizzling
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch baking pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the honey, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Top with whipped cream and drizzle with honey before serving.
  • Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.

Notes

For an extra rich flavor, use raw or floral honey. You can also serve this dessert warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
